Århus

Århus? Never heard of it. But it is actually the second largest city in small Denmark. 307.119 inhabitants live in the municipality of Århus according the latest statistics of 2o1o.

For us who grew up in the Århus we find the town a little boring and wish it offered more cultural possibilites. Therefore I have collected a few local tips for enjoying town.

Eating tapas in Århus.
CANblau Tapas Bar.

Wall art in Skanderborg.

About 20 km's from Århus lies the small sleepy town Skanderborg. Skanderborg becomes famous every year in august, where the huge "forest party" (Skanderborg Festival) takes place.

The Danish writer Ole Lund Kirkegaard also grew up in this town. He is know for his childrens books such as "Orla frøsnapper, Gummi Tarzan, Otto er et næsehorn" etc. Most Danes can properly remember these titles from their childhood.

Around in Skanderborg walls and statues light up the town with caracters from his stories.

Danish Bakeries.

These green and cutes cakes are called "Kaj kager". The cake is inspired by another character called Kaj, who a frog from a childrens tv-show from the 1970's.

A car dedicated to Rio de Janeiro.
